The first meeting was held at the Pallas Athene College in the Netherlands (Ede) as they are the coordinating partner. This meeting served as a vital platform to establish the project management, communication and quality assessment tools that will be used throughout the project. Another key goal of this meeting was to ensure all partner schools are clear on the key project themes, distribution of workload and key performance indicators for the first half of the project. All partner schools were present as well as two key members of each partner team.
On the first day, the HILS teams presented the results of their HILS survey, which they had conducted prior to the visit, having used the drafted questionnaires and the extended research carried out at school and in their local areas, which allowed them to identify the main areas for concern, backed by real data.
The rest of the week's activities were designed to train students on a variety of issues related to the topic of mental health and mindfulness, including a number of workshops jointly prepared and delivered by Healthy Schools London and Public Health Netherlands delegates, talks by health professionals, related visits and other activities.
The final outcome included drafting and presenting an action plan in national teams to promote a number of identified strategies and resources to identify and combat the root causes of mental health issues and promote the benefits of mindfulness in their schools.
Both teachers and students became more aware of the relevance of mental health, mindfulness and wellbeing and due to that yoga classes for teachers and students were provided and a chess club was created.

This theme was about exploring the benefits of exercise and sport and more specifically the relationship between an active life style and academic performance and general wellbeing. The aim of this LTTA was to promote an active lifestyle among pupils by providing high quality lessons in Physical Education, extra curricular sport activities and extra support for inactive students. One of the main objectives of this activity was to encourage schools to offer a wide and varied range of intermediate and after-school sports and exercise activities in collaboration with extracurricular sport activities.
During the week teachers and students received training and explored aspects of the benefits of sport and exercise to achieve a healthy lifestyle. A number of workshops and training sessions was conducted with the help of the PE and Science departments in school. In addition to the school activities, students partook in a number of outdoor challenges. We also took part in some sport activities and excursions to the beach and the nearby mountains.
At the end of the activity, the HILS teams presented their findings and drafted an action plan which was later implemented in our schools. At the end of the mobility, we felt that our students were really motivated to change their lifestyle habits and to practise more sports; however, covid came out and deeply changed our lives. Anyway, some of them kept exercising at home during the pandemic and one of the participants in this mobility decided to choose sports as the topic of his final report exam, which he presented to the school community.

Everywhere
This mobility was related to three important topics : Health, Safety and Environment. Students prepared their own country presentations on how they feel and address these topics.
EHS stands for Environment, Health, and Safety. It's a general term used to refer to laws, rules, regulations, professions, programs, and workplace efforts to protect the health and safety of employees and the public as well as the environment from hazards associated with the workplace. We can say that a healthy environment ensures a reduction in health complaints, less absenteeism and an increase in well-being and improvement in the performance of both pupils and staff. Adolescence is a critical period of formative growth that affects well-being across the life course. The transition to healthy adulthood is dependent on being safe and having a supportive environment to live, learn and earn. In such an environment, adolescents are physically and psychologically safe and protected from all forms of violence, abuse, exploitation and injury; their material needs are met; they are treated fairly and have equal rights, they are free to practice their beliefs and express their identities, they have privacy, and the resources and opportunities to thrive. .

For our fifth mobility, four final-year students and two teachers went to the Netherlands where they spent a week in the city of Ede. On the first day, our students did very a nice presentation regarding everything they had learnt so far about health thanks to the HILS project. They also participated in “ice-breaking” type activities in international teams.
On Tuesday, we had the amazing opportunity to visit the Kröller-Müller museum with its unique collection of Van Gogh paintings and to take a tour of the De Hoge Veluwe reserve.
The following day we took a day trip to the beautiful city of Nijmegen, walked through its historical center and did a cruise on a pancake boat !
Then came the most important day of the week: the day of the HILS conference. Students made very nice presentations about different topics. To celebrate European friendship, we all had a nice BBQ and a fancy Hollywood evening !
On Friday, we went to a lake near Amsterdam and could take part in water activities such as motorboats, sailing and canoeing. Then we all had a picnic by the lake with food prepared by the Dutch host-families.
The students during the all week not only improved their English level, gained a lot of confidence but also were delighted with the warm welcome reserved for them by the very caring Dutch families, who introduced them to the neighboring city of Utrecht. Students said it was the best experience in their lives.
